BORED

thinking of doing a vlog tomorrow... ive been really bored lately which makes me really lazy and not want to do anything ... making me even more bored.... anyways it could be fun... could be awkward ... who knows :]

Project 002- Crochet- Baby Hat and Booties

i have sucessfully completed another crochet project. this will also be a gift for my friends baby girl, along with the millions of other things i have bought, im just so excited for her. 

i got the pattern from one of my crochet today magazines. (a special issue from last Christmas)

it was so easy. half double crochet's all around, i like this stitch a lot its fast and i believe its soft, softer than a single crochet. 

the pom poms were my favorite to make, ive never made any before now. they are so easy to make, you can use your hands, cardboard or a pom pom maker. (i used a pom pom maker, just two pieces of plastic that i wrapped yarn around)

miscellany monday

after my morning nap today i came down stairs to this mess in the background

hiro- mommy i swear it wasn't me... dadda went crazy with the toilet paper ... after all i go to the bathroom outside... putt dadda in the kennel not me... wasn't me i prwomis

i get hillarious emails from my aunt and this one just made me laugh... sounds like something i would do if i had an experience like this.... Enjoy!! :]

My darling husband,         Before you return from your business trip, I just want to let you know   about the small accident I had with the pick uptruck when I turned into the driveway.       Fortunately it's not too bad and I really didn't get hurt, so please don't worry too much about me. I was coming home from Wal-Mart, and when I turned into the driveway I accidentally pushed down on the accelerator instead of the brake. The garage door is slightly bent but fortunately the pick up came to a halt when it bumped into your car.  I am really sorry, but I know with your kind-hearted personality you will  forgive me.  You know how much I love you and care for you my sweetheart.  I am enclosing a picture of the damage for you.  I cannot wait to hold you in my arms again.  Your loving wife.  XXX

now i must clean the house while my husband works his 13 hour shift, so he can have a bbq with his friends... its okay i enjoy a clean house... and i love the smell of my lavender pine sol

Project 001- crochet - part two COMPLETED!

here it is i have finally and officially finished my first crochet project. i never finish what im working on... believe me i have a bear with no arms. i had to take a few days off because i have tendinitis in my right wrist all because of crochet too THANKS ALOT!

so this is what it looked like when i finished. something just didn't look right to me. i followed the pattern to a T and realized there's a bunch of differences. the be is supposed to have an extra black stripe through the middle. and the grog is way to tall. i double checked to see if i did to many rows and i didnt the pattern wanted 40 rows. so i had to fix it.














i took out 19 rows. and i like how this looks much better. it was a free pattern from lion brand yarns, it was my first time using a pattern from them. im happy with it. i hope my friends new baby will like it too.

onto the next project i go!!! i looked through all my crochet and knitting today magazines (my obsession for theses mags are crazy!) i got my new fall crochet mag (on top) and want to make everything from it!!!



i picked out my next project, im going to also give it to the new born :] ! since its going to be cold and rainy here in england shell need some cute booties and a hat!!!

its the simple things in life

we had three sunny days in a row, yesterday was in the 80s, so sitting outside was so relaxingclosing my eyes while sitting outside and imagining im back home on the beach with my friends

cake pops!!!!!

oh my god was i so excited to make these!!! 

i have a baby shower to go to this month so i thought id bring something fun and baby themed (shes having a girl) and i wanted to make sure they would come out okay.

i used a white cake mix and got candy melts and whipped frosting. 

i made the cake according to the box.  

i dyed the cake with my Wilton gel colors. i did blue just to test how the colors would cook in the cake, ive never done it before.

the cake obviously browns on the outside (the best part of the cake) so i got nervous for a second. but when i broke it out it was very vibrant. 

i cut away all the browned bits, and crumbled the cake. i colored my frosting to match the color of each cake  and mixed it in with the cake. heres where i messed up big time with the blue cake. i wasn't paying attention to how much frosting i put in and it was a mushy mess. so with the pink cake i just kept adding a little bit till i got a play dough consistency.

i melted the chocolates in the microwave and made little balls. since the blue was soo mushy i had to put them in the freezer till they stiffened up. 

the pink worked out perfectly. i dipped the lolli pop stick into some of the candy melts then onto the pop. i tried to dip it right away and it fell off and couldn't get the whole thing dipped. so i put them into the fridge to the the candy melt could harden allowing the stick to stay in better. 

im not so pleased with the look of how they came out. i wanted a smoother coating with no swirls. i put them back in the fridge for them to harden. 

here is my personal opinion: it was hard to bite into them, and my first small bite made me sick. it was just way to sugary sweet, but that could just be me, i cant eat sugar with out feeling extremely sick to my stomach... its cake, mixed with frosting, covered in candy melts. my husband had one, he liked  them but he also agrees with the sweetness. so.... this was a fun project but i dont think ill make it for the baby shower, its a lot of work, and a big mess. 

but i would make them again if i had this little gadget. i think the would be delish if it was just a cake ball covered in the candy melts, or even frosting or fondant.

new look

i am working on a new look for my blog. i am really excited about it, im working on a degree in computer science and will have to take an entire class on xml so i thought my blog was a good start to grasp the concept. i cant wait till its done... its a work in progress.
