the music here in England is awesome. it took a while to grow on me... it was hard for me to understand when they were rapping... because when they sing it sounds more like an american accent. i remember when we first heard a song on the radio ryan and i just looked at each other and were like WHAT IS HE SAYING! but anyways i love it now, i know that when i move back to the States that ill be checking the uk itunes all the time for music!!! heres one of my favorite songs
i have been working on a new project for a couple days now. and i love it! my friend Suzy is having a baby girl early September. i took this opportunity to actually finish a crochet project. for real... i haven't finished one project to date! HA i could say i finished a granny square blanket... but i mailed it to my mom with out weaving in the ends HAHAHA OOPS. anyways im half done and i thought i would share the free pattern i found on the Lion Brand Yarn website.
so here is what i have done so far. the patterns really easy to follow. i catch up on my recorded cold cases while i work on this. im really happy with how its coming along. i think maybe i might redo the base it looks a wee bit small ... like the rings are over taking it. but it might just be in the picture because in real life it kinda looks fine. i don't know...
heres the link to the pattern, its free!! id say give it a try because its really cute and fun!!
ill post when im done!! i swear this one will get finished.
i plan of unraveling 90% of the projects i haven't finished... and either redoing them or reusing the yarn. im gonna put pictures of them on here... its kinda funny how bad my crochet A.D.D is !!! ive already started planning out my next project and got the yarn and things i need... its so hard holding off on getting started i want to start it now!
i used to, in middle school, we would go to the variety store and bring it to the beach down the street from my house and eat and entire roll of cookie dough. MAJOR FLASH BACK miss those days. but i do stock the cookie dough at the commissary and i always want to buy one and eat it. but i cant that would be bad, id probably gain the weight i've just lost right back :[ ... must have self control.
2. When you get online for the first time of the day… what site do you immediately head to?
i usually go down my list sites on my bookmark bar, so i guess bloggers first then mail, facebook, twitter, youtube....
3.What was your favorite pet as a child and why?
i guess i would say Taz, he was our first cat. he gives foot massages and snuggles on my bum. i miss the big boy. and of course i love my two cats Lucy and Lenny. I left them with Taz and my parents while im over in England, i just didnt want them to sit in quarantine
little Lucy Loo, snuggling with big boy Taz Lenny as a baby in Texas
4. If you had a snail that could magically grant wishes, what would you name it?
my husband said snuggy the snail? i dont think a magical wish granting snail would be snuglly? unless i wished him to be a snuggly soft stuffed animal snail... but then i think id end up with no more wishes? but hes magical so hed then be a magical wish granting snuggly stuffed animal, Snuggy the Snail.
5. How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop?
if there's one thing i love doing .... its dancing around my house when no ones home :] ... usually while i do the dishes... i haven't dropped any yet!! well here is one of the songs i go crazy to! Robyn's dancing is oddly similar to mine ha HA i cant dance ... that's why i do it when no ones watching !!
Sassy Sites is having a friend party!! how awesome is that!!! i love checking out new people to follow!
Here is a little bit about me and blogging :]
Whydid you decide to start blogging?
i started blogging after my best friend (Jen-check her out because shes amazing!) told me about hers and how she really enjoyed it so i thought why not. im in england, what better way to keep my friends and family updated on what im doing. and its really turned into something i enjoy. im always thinking oh i can blog about this when i get home !!! and i just love love love reading everyone else blogs
When you aren't blogging, what are you doing?
i would say im either crocheting, playing video games with my husband, or logic problems... oh or reading.
What is your blog about?
anything and everything? a little bit of what im up to, adventures, ive only been blogging for two months now so i dont think ive been able to establish what it really is.
When do you find the time to blog? its either first thing in the morning because i find it goes well with a cup of green tea :] or in the evening when my husband has gone off to work.
Whydo you love blogging?
mainly because i get the chance to read about other great peoples adventures. and i can share mine. i dont find myself to be super exciting and interesting but i love to just type away even if its pointless. its a great stress free way to relax ... at least for me... is that wierd?
Whatis your favorite post so far that you've written?
i would have to say the one with the video of my new puppy! im just so excited to share his cuteness with everyone. he may be a little brat but oh i love his fluffy face :]
i am just so tired. i went to work twice yesterday so i could take today off and get to sleep in for the first time in weeks. i guess that is why i love my job. i basically work for myself. my friend was in charge of the sections and i helped her and then she would just pay me, but she handed it over to me last week and now i can decided what time and when i wanna work. so now i stock the yopliat yogurts, pillsbury pastry's, green giant vegetables, pizza rolls, tortinos pizzas, junos pizzas, toaster strudels and pancakes, and grands frozen rolls. YAY. the other day i stocked 100 boxes that was the most ive done. if i work fast i can get it done in 2 and a half hours. i have to get it done between 6pm and 8am. im really thankful for this job because my husbands schedule can be very annoying. when i worked at the post office full time for the holidays i had to take my break to take him to work then get back and stay late to make up for the extended break. it wasnt fun. but since ryan is on 12s he works 7pm to 7am so i went in when i dropped him off.
so i dont like staying home alone and sleeping alone. so when ryan works through the night i go to bed super early so i can wake up and get him. he had a big test today and he did amazing on it! 85 !! second best score in his squadron. i guess they say its technically impossible to get above a 90 on it or something.
hiro has good and bad days. he is having a bad day today. he is being such a brat. constantly biting at my legs. saying NO used to work, then it didnt, so i started yelping like a dog would if they were playing and biting each other, that worked for a day... not even... anyone have any ideas.... it drives me nuts i cant get anything done because hell just follow me around and his bites are getting strong.
im so tired i cant even focus... im just rambling... atleast i dont start talking crazy talk ... ryan will talk in his sleep... or ill wake him up and talk to him then hell say something crazy.... the other morning he said and in a very serious i mean it kind of tone.... "i can tie my shoes a hundred different ways, but i cant sleep."
i confess ... that i gave up the oppurtunity of getting a 45,000 dollar yearly salary job all because i couldnt figure out the damn website and it eats me up inside... i could have gone back to school and bought a new car....
i confess... that i am obsessed with watching Katersoneseven and DudeLikeHELLA 's youtube blogs on a daily basis, its better than TV!!!!
i confess... that i am oh so in love with my new puppy! butttt...... i wish he knew how to use the toilet
i confess... that when i see a book that i want to read i buy it.. even when i have a stack of ten waiting to still be read
i confess... that i am done with summer... its cold and rainy here, i want fall, and pumpkins and fall scented candles, to me fall is a cuddly time of year
want to meet Hiro, hes our 8 week old chow chow puppy. we drove up to New Castle in northern England last weekend. it was about a 5 almost 6 hour drive each way (due to my slow driving because i thought my car was going to fall to pieces). we've had him for one week now and he can be a cute cuddly meatball and then he can be a monster. hes teething, so he keeps nipping at us. hes mostly potty trained, i think he pees on the floor so that hell get taken outside so he can run around. hes been playing in the yard and running around the house and we gave him a bath yesterday. we both love our little fur ball.
Well it's Monday ...my husbands birthday is tomorrow ... I want to make him a cake but I have no sticks of butter to make frosting, sure I can run a few mins down the road to get butter but I just can't leave my little Hiro in his kennel it makes him cry and it breaks my heart, we are trying to train him. Soo is there a way to make frosting with out butter? I don't think so... What am I to do... I have everything to make a cake ... I cant have cake without frosting.
I am still in shock that we made it to New Castle and back Saturday. I have never driven a car that far before in my life. it was so wierd to think that I was all the way up in north north England. We drove the entire way on the A1(M) THE NORTH. It was fun taking a big road trip. We went to a small rural town,Durham, to pick up our new puppy. We brought him home and he's starting to fit in very well.
Since I no longer have a computer i find myself to be very bored. But I dug out one of my logic problems and have been obsessing over them. Ive almost done half the magazine. What do you do to keep your self entertained when technology fails??
I am so excited to share my video and pictures from our trip and of Hiro. I think I will post something over this weekend. The plan is to get a desktop computer... Maybe ... Doing it on this iPod will take a century. I keep dropping this thing it's just to small.
(please zoom out to see our trip in the blue) We are officially heading out to pick up our new puppy! We are driving from Brandon to just outside New Castle, it'll be about a 4 and a half hour drive one way but we will take two hour long breaks to let my car rest, making it six and a half hours. Our goal is to make it by 9 or 10 am Saturday. So that means we have to leave around 3am tonight to get there. i will be driving while my husband snoozes, were leaving right when he gets off work. i went to the library and checked out 2 audio books, the da Vinci Code (i have read this one years ago and i thought my husband wouldnt mind listening to that) and Stephenie Meyer's The Host, (i own this book but i just cant seem to get into it so maybe this will get me going, its about 23 hours long on CD so i wont be finishing this on our 13 hour long trip.
My car is getting really old now. its a 2000 ford focus so its starting to struggle a bit, so thats why i will be stopping every to hours for an hour or so to give him (henry aka my car) a rest. and when we get the puppy wed like to try and get him to use the bathroom.
I like to think that we are prepared. We got a cooler filled with ice, three 4 packs of monster energy drinks, sandwiches and 100 cal snack packs, tones of water bottles. We also have a carrier for hiro and some puppy pads in case of an accident. his coller and leash. a portable water bowl, water and a few chewy dog bones (although it may not be a great idea i wouldn't want him to get car sick). we also are bringing his little stuffed elephant. i have my camera for videos and pictures. i do want to try and record tid bits of our trip.
Were going up to the breeders home to pick up Hiro, he will be 7 weeks old. Hes a Purebred Chow Chow. We are so excited to finally meet and bring out our little guy. We have been getting updated photos of him since he was 3 weeks old.
well the library is closing in a few minutes (since i dint have a lap top anymore) so i must end this... enjoy the pictures of our new puppy and i look forward to sharing more :]
i have recently discovered that listening to my ipod on shuffle helps me get my cleaning done around the house. last night the song Signs by Bloc Party came on and an instant flood of excitement and sadness rushed over me. i came across this song two years ago when i was living in Wichita Falls Texas. It was always on repeat. so when i heard this song i all of a sudden was put into flash back mode. i remember the warm nights driving on the highway taking my husband back to his tech school dorms, and laying out by the pool. i miss my little 550 square foot apartment. it was my first time living out on my own so when people hear me say AHH I LOVE WICHITA FALLS they say are you crazy, but i just loved everything about it, it was sooo different from good ol Massachusetts. i find myself thinking to the past of all the good times and the times i miss. recently i have just been missing home like crazy. well, here's the song, i hope you all enjoy this one.
Bloc Party - Signs
Whats your song?? Link up with Goodnight Moon and your play list just may grow, mine has :]
This morning I had a bowl of honey nut cheerios with lactaid milk, which is my new favorite thing because the real milk has always made me sick and hard to breath and this has n o effect on me... I don't know why I havent tried it sooner. So I have been having cereal for breakfast every morning.
I forgot about lunch.
I have left over yeast rolls from the weekend. So I will have yeast rolls with dinner.
I didn't want to do too much cooking so I did chicken (frozen I admit) fried green beans and my ryan waned sweet potatoes so I cooked him two and I did a twice baked potato... My fave! I don't like sweet potatoes because the look and feel gross ... They kinda creep me out.
I made raspberry iced tea too ... Mainly because I like using my pitcher and it's yummy :)
So that's what I ate ... What about you?? Click the what I ate Wednesday picture above and link up with peas and crayons !!!!!!
Have you (spouse) ever considered joining the military and what do you think of dual military couples?
i don't know if i have ever considered joing the military. my husband thinks it'd be a good idea that if i cant succeed in the real world when i finish my college degree then it be a good idea to go in as an officer. sometimes i think yeah why not, but i feel like its the easy way out for me, and i know my husband would love to be a spouse because he only plans to stay in for the last year and a half of his 4 year contract. i personally know i am a wimp. i am very weak and can barley manage five push ups, so i would struggle with that. who knows what will happen. i don't know any dual military couples. but i personally don't see a problem with it. i may be a little difficult with having a family but its just like each parent having a full time job.
2. What is your idea of a perfect Sunday afternoon?
a perfect Sunday afternoon would defiantly be a day spent with my husband watching movies, and i love to cook a fancy meal that takes lots of preparation and time to put together, i don't know why i love to cook like that on Sundays maybe the left overs for the week, or that's how we did it when i was growing up. Sunday dinners :]
3. What do you usually do for the 4th of July holiday?
i must go see fireworks. there's something about fireworks that makes me happy. i love the loud explosions, the beautiful colors, the fancy shapes (when i was a kid i would always name them, like the weeping willow because it would leave a trail of glittery-ness falling down from the sky like a weeping willow tree). back home i loved going to the parade and all our traditions. Ryan and i haven't established any kind of tradition, last year we didn't even celebrate. this year i want to check out the fireworks, but Ryan heard that there's always fights and they end up shutting it down, so i haven't decided if i wanted to go, Ryan will only be going because for me. well see.
4. If they could make an Olympic event JUST for you that you know you’d medal in, what would it be?
id say flexibility? i used to be a cheerleader, so i can do splits and all sorts of things. i can still do a chin chin, where i pull my right foot behind/from the side and place my toes under my chin. im more flexible now, i stretch every day while i watch TV, its relaxing :]
5. What have you been doing to get yourself bathing suit ready for the summer?
ive been trying to get to the gym. and do as much cardio as i can. im not doing as much as id like but im slowly actually getting back in shape, hopefully a beach trip and my ity bity bikini soon?
